Our purpose is to seek, cultivate, and obtain funds to be used for developing and expanding educational opportunities for students of our Southside Independent School District (SISD).
The Southside ISD Education Foundation (SEF) was created in 2008 in order to seek, cultivate, and obtain funds to be used for developing and expanding educational opportunities for students of Southside Independent School District (SISD). In order to support these programs we host events such as the Annual Golf Tournament and Southside Casino Night.
SEF is a community advocate and we support Summer Movie Nights and reading programs along with several initiatives that help enrich the educational experience of SISD students. SEF is also a proud member of the United Way Charitable Giving Campaign.
Since 2015, SEF has given out more than $9000 in new teacher grants and has funded a district wide STEM project called Student Space Flight Program with $10K in grants which allowed students to work with NASA and compete to send an experiments into space.
More than $30K has been given out in Innovation Grants and since 2018 SEF has awarded nearly $40K in academic scholarships. We are always looking for ways to help, join us in this effort today.
This year we are close to meeting our fundraising goal of $53K. The monies will go to fund scholarships and teacher grants.
