Southside ISD proudly marked Decision Day with an inspiring celebration honoring our graduating seniors and their exciting plans for life after high school. This meaningful event recognizes the hard work, dedication, and bright futures of our students as they take their next steps. The Southside ISD Education Foundation recently celebrated a remarkable achievement with its highly anticipated 9th Annual Golf Tournament, hosted at the beautiful Canyon Springs Golf Club in Stone Oak. This event proved to be outstanding, rallying support and generating a sum exceeding $25,000. These funds will be directed toward vital scholarships, teacher grants, and the staff scholarship program. Southside ISD Education Foundation awarded fifteen thousand dollars to six applicants who competed among 17 requests for grants. The Education Foundation grants committee said it was a difficult decision, but many were impressed with the highest-ranking applications. The competition was fierce this year in that many educators submitted applications that were innovative, inventive, and different.  For example, this was the first year the foundation awarded more than three thousand dollars to a teacher to start or enhance an ESports club that integrates every aspect of STEAM.  Robotics and FFA BBQ teams also got a significant amount of money to promote [...]

It was a sold-out event at the first-ever Southside ISD Education Foundation Bingo Night! Two hundred fifty people packed Pica Pica Event Plaza to play 20 games and take a chance at a 50/50 game.  Thanks to all the support of community members, parents, staff, and Pica Pica’s Rudy Lopez, it was a successful event to raise money for scholarships and grants.
